![]() Intake mani does help with top end but it will make great power with one especially when you get better cams. Hopefully you look into it before spending a good bit of useless money. I mean hey, you not of heard of them but that doesn't mean they cant handle the job. I just feel like why go to evans when there is great local tuners in the area. Your story is one more to add to the list of many i've heard. The mans done good work over the years so i'm not going to bash him i just wouldn't personally take my car there. I'm not a fan of Ivey personally, and many other locally can agree. They also wouldn't tune it because they didn't trust that I was capable of doing a boost leak test before hand, but didn't tell me that until I got there. I went over to Ivey (3 hour drive) and they refused to tune my car because it was hard to get into reverse due to the aforementioned clutch issue, although once moving there is no issues with engaging/slipping. I hear different reviews everywhere I go. Also, I'm all ears about tuning suggestions. How beneficial are they on the Evo's, especially low to mid range? This car is my year round DD, so I don't want to make it too much of a high-rpm screamer, granted, built 2.0L with a 35r and S2's fits the "high-rpm" description quite well. I haven't really looked into an intake manifold at this point. Granted, a lot of that is lost right now in the cams and the tune (or lack there of), but I'm scared if I were to get a bigger housing it would be much laggier than it already is. 63 on the turbo, as the 2.0L (while even being 10:1) has some trouble spooling it. Thanks for the info! The BC cams had to be degreed just to get them to "0", if you will they're pathetic. ![]() The first night I had the car in August, 2011: Warlbo 400lph In-Tank Fuel Pump w/ STM Rewire One -6an off of breather on front of motor Thermal Research full 3" exhaust fit to jdm rear bumper (awful quality welds) Dual walbro 255LPH fuel pumps (1 inline before fuel rail.awful setup) FabThis custom dump tube (awful quality) FabThis custom intercooler piping (awful quality) FabThis custom 3"inch vband downpipe (awful quality) Thermostat installed upside down (causing blown head gasket) So far I have replaced everything on the car except for the drivetrain, and decided it was time to do just that. The kit was bad, the head was junk, there were eBay parts that were said to be good aftermarket parts, there were fabricated parts that looked as if a child had welded them, gaskets reused, engine bay had never been cleaned, oil leaks, improper installation of many parts, PATHETIC wiring, neglect of maintenance, etc.Īfter MUCH trial and error since then, I have learned this platform inside and out. The only good parts that were on the car were the built shortblock and the turbo. However, the car was neglected and fell apart on me completely a few weeks after I had it. I had built three Mustangs prior and was excited about the new platform. I bought my first Evo off of EvoM Summer of 2011.
